Stu Diamond of Diamond Health & Fitness is the centres qualified Nutritionst and Sports Nutrionist, and can provide advice, guidance and plans catering for all. 

Nutrition is important area which can impact on general health and ability to undertake activity / sports. However, it can be the area that is regularly overlooked,  often unintentionally. Fuel is important for the body, and indeed professional fitness arenas signpost to fitness being 20% Training and 80% Nutrition    

At the most basic level, nutrition is important for athletes because it provides a source of energy required to perform the activity. Carbohydrates are the main source of energy that powers your exercise regime and protein is required to aid muscle growth and repair. Sports nutrition differs from regular nutrition because athletes require different amounts of nutrients compared to nonathletes. In order to perform optimally, you need to train hard and fuel your body appropriately. There is no substitute or supplement for a well-balanced diet

Advice provided on dietary practices, exercise, and use of vitamins, minerals and supplements. Under the Sports Nutrition area we are responsible for teaching athletes and fitness enthusiasts effective ways to improve their health, optimize their performance and manage their weight. 

SPORTS PSYCHOLOGY:

Stu Diamond of Diamond Health & Fitness is the centres qualified Social and Sports Psychologist, providing Mindset, Motivation and Confidence support. 

Sports psychology offers athletes many benefits, from improved performance to a healthier mental recovery after sustaining a physical injury. It can help these athletes stay engaged in the sports they love. Sports psychology also offers benefits for non-athletes, such as by helping them stick to an exercise program. Getting regular exercise improves brain health, reduces the risk of disease, strengthens bones and muscles, and makes it easier to maintain a healthy weight—while also increasing longevity.

Different sports psychology techniques work in different ways. Some are used to promote self-confidence. Others are designed to reduce anxiety. Though they all have one goal in common and that goal is to help the “individual” improve their performance.
